Our Story

Karis and Sager met at law school in Philadelphia. When Sager first saw Karis in class he told his friends that law school couldn’t be that bad, especially since there was this cute, goofy girl in his section. But even though they spent all day, every day together attending the same classes, after three months Sager could count on one hand the number of times they’d spoken. During the first week of classes, Sager had even happened to bump into Karis’s little sister, Kamryn who was then a senior at Penn. He mentioned to her that he was Karis’s classmate, hoping Kamryn might be his big break with Karis. When Kamryn called Karis in front of Sager to confirm if she knew him, Karis to his chagrin, replied that she had no clue who Kamryn was referring to. Their love story continued to clumsily stumble along with highlights such as when Karis turned around in their constitutional law class and threatened to kill Sager if he dropped his pen on the floor again during class. Despite these less than romantic blunders, Sager remained hopeful and figured he’d have ample time to win her over. Unfortunately, Sager did not foresee a pandemic sending them home after their first semester of law school. Arriving back on campus after six months of quarantine, Karis was eager to get out and socialize which meant she was willing to crash the party of a classmate she didn’t know very well. Luckily for Sager, that party happened to be hosted at his apartment. When Sager saw Karis walk through the door, he decided he was done waiting for the perfect opportunity and asked her on a date then and there. Three years later he proposed to her at a castle in Ireland and the rest was history!
